Abstract
. Le Météorologue is a fictionalized investigation by Olivier Rolin on the live of the first meteorologist in URSS Alexei Féodossiévitch Vangengheim. The latter was arrested and sentenced to the Gulag under the pretext of promoting foreign propaganda which would undermine the success of the Bolshevik economy. The text is the story of his trial centered on this false charge that the novel presents itself as a misunderstanding. The reading we propose questions birth conditions of the misunderstanding in the career of this particular individual, and in the case of the massacres of Gulag in general. It also deals with issues in the literary inquiry the narrateur conducts and with his interest to revisit this event.
