self-staging and performance's double body: a short genealogy
Abstract
This article aims to question, from the perspective of self-staging, the place of the body in theoretical and critical discourse on performance. By offering a short genealogy of its double status, both real body and semiotic body, the analysis seeks to inscribe in the long term the current issues of the search for an authentic expression of the self, problematized in particular in the discourse on so-called feminist performance.
