Entrelacs littérature / musique : ré-union langagière des arts dans les romans d’Anne-Lise Grobéty et Alice Rivaz

Abstract

Alice Rivaz and Anne-Lise Grobéty’s texts, both French-speaking Swiss authors, are broadly filled with musicality. The concepts of rhythm and scansion are at the heart of their literary projects. Both authors instil a specific scansion in their writings– and thus in the reading, so that their language sounds differently. Their novels contain many intermedialities between written literature and musical sounds. From this dialogue, emerges an interesting poetics in which the words are used for their sonorities : by playing with the cutting of sentences, with their layouts or with syllables that compose them, the authors make a hybridization of arts. If music plays an important role as a topos, it makes sense especially in the texts themselves, in so far as it completes the scriptural literature, making possible the inclusion of language. Thus, my study will deal with the writings of these authors who come to articulate words and music, introducing language in the speech, and giving a direct access to emotions and feelings.
